Since Brevard Ballet Academy (BBA) opened in 2014 our Academy Director has insisted that giving back to the community was going to be a staple of our school’s success.
Brevard Ballet Youth Company
In 2018, BBA joined hands with our associate company, Brevard Ballet Youth Company (BBYC) to accomplish this mission. We now have partnerships with nonprofits Candlelighters of Brevard, Promise in Brevard, and Nana’s house. Twice a year, clients and volunteers of these wonderful organizations get to enjoy the magic and beauty of our professional ballet productions. The smiles and hugs we receive from those in attendance warms our hearts immensely.
Eau Gallie Art District
BBA is proud corporate sponsor of the Eau Gallie Art District (EGAD), a vibrant community that boasts a rich history, an eclectic mix of art galleries, restaurants, shops and a growing list of activities for visitors and residents to enjoy. EGAD’s creative little city is an authentic historic Florida town, but it’s also a thriving business district, cultural hub and a place where generations have lived, worked and preserved the historic fabric of our downtown.
Acoustic for a Change
BBA is Melbourne’s receiving and distribution location for the national nonprofit organization Acoustic for a Change (AFAC). This instrument donation program collects, refurbishes, and places musical instruments in the hands of underprivileged children or organizations that work with these children. It is an initiative for instruments to stop collecting dust and start making music again. Through the years AFAC has placed hundreds of instruments in the hands of underprivileged children, changing lives one instrument at a time.
