At Brevard Ballet Academy, we believe that every child who has the passion and drive to dance should have access to quality training — regardless of a family’s budget. Step Up For Students is one of the most important tools making that belief a reality on Florida’s Space Coast.
A Program Built for Access
Step Up For Students is a Florida nonprofit that helps eligible families access educational opportunities beyond the traditional public-school setting. Its scholarships can be used at approved facilities — including arts and enrichment programs like BBA. And with Florida’s 2023 expansion making the flagship scholarships universally available regardless of household income, more families qualify today than at any point in the program’s history.
What Access Really Means
For a talented child, the difference between casual once-a-week dance and a structured classical program can be life-shaping. Access to authentic Vaganova training, professional-grade equipment, and performance opportunities with the Brevard Ballet Youth Company can open doors to summer intensives, competitions, and even pre-professional pathways. Step Up helps ensure that those doors are open to families who might otherwise never have considered them.

BBA’s Role
As an approved Step Up For Students facility, BBA is proud to welcome scholarship families into our studios in Melbourne. We can’t process scholarship applications — that’s handled by Step Up — but we can make the studio side simple, from choosing the right class to coordinating payment.
