Born in St. Petersburg to two Vaganova Academy graduates and trained on full scholarship at Nevada Ballet Academy, Dasha Bondar brings a lifelong ballet heritage — and a modern creative eye — to Brevard Ballet Academy.
Some dancers find ballet. Dasha Bondar was born into it. The daughter of two graduates of the prestigious Vaganova Ballet Academy — including Brevard Ballet Academy’s own director, Elena Shokhina — Dasha grew up immersed in the world of classical ballet.
A Childhood in Classical Ballet
Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Dasha moved to the United States at age five and began training on full scholarship at Nevada Ballet Academy, where she performed in productions including The Nutcracker, Peter Pan, and Dracula. Beyond classical ballet, she trained in contemporary, jazz, Fosse, character dance, and hip-hop — a versatility that reflects the well-rounded dancer BBA aims to develop.
Instructor, Administrator, and Brand Coordinator
Dasha joined Brevard Ballet Academy in 2018 and has served as both an instructor and academy administrator. Today she is BBA’s Social Media & Brand Coordinator, overseeing the academy’s branding, marketing, website, and digital communications — combining a lifelong passion for ballet with a creative, contemporary sensibility.
Her background outside the studio is just as impressive: a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University, a second bachelor’s in nursing, and a Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner — a diverse professional perspective she brings to everything she does for BBA.
